1st John 4:8 tells us “that God is love”. Of all the adjectives that describe God in the Bible this is the most important. No one can understand God and His way of doing things without understanding this verse. Everything God does is out of a heart of love. Love for all of mankind, not for just a few. Jesus died for the sins of the whole world. If a person is in rebellion against God, and rejects Jesus as his Lord and savior, then he or she rejects the greatest example that perfect love has to offer. With this thought in mind we can understand prophecy better. Prophecy is “forthtelling” or telling future events before they happen. Not all prophecy is bad. The Bible is full of wonderful, exciting, indescribable, and as brother Peter puts it “joy unspeakable and full of glory”. There are also many horrible prophecies that have come to pass, and will be coming to pass soon. The book of the “Revelation of Jesus Christ” is full of terrible things that are about to happen. But God has provided a way for everyone to escape the “tribulation” period. Remember in prophecy there are promises and warnings. Any loving parent would protect their children by helping them prepare for the future. God is no different, except that He has done and, will do a MUCH better job than mankind could ever do. He tells us what is going to happen and then tells us how to overcome the bad things and live in the hope of the good things. WOW! And double WOW! God is good! I do not sweat the” judgement “ of God because I have already been judged in Christ Jesus. Please, please, please remember God is warning us of the dangers to come by prophecies. He has given us the name of His Son “JESUS CHRIST”, and the ’‘HOLY SPIRIT” to make sure we, as His sons and daughters can say like Jesus “I have overcome the world” (IN CHRIST JESUS)! Why, Why, Why would God do all of this for us? BECAUSE HE IS OUR HEAVENLY FATHER AND HE IS LOVE!!!!!!!
